Mussels at Dish, Delicious

@Dua Residences
If you're looking for a high end food experience, then you should try the Dish by Delicious at Dua Residences. The restaurant is seated within it's gourmet shop where you can dine and shop for high quality ingredients. You should definitely try the starters - I would highly recommend the mussels in wine sauce, prawn salad and the tomato soup. If you're a light eater, the starters would be just nice as they also serve you warm crispy ciabatta bread slices. Coffee here is ok though they use Illy coffee but their barista is not experienced.

Getting here: it,s just opposite the US embassy and immediately after the Bombay Palace restaurant in KL.

Local food@Cravings

@Une Utama (new wing)
Here's a nice place to go for local food. Serves pretty good yam cake, char kueh teow and of course if you want something fancy go for the wine mee sua or claypot loh shee fun!

Getting there: get to One Utama shopping mall. go to the new wing and get to the 1st floor. Or simply check the directory for is restaurant =)

All day breakfast@Departure Lounge

@Solaris 4,Mont Kiara
If you have craving for breakfast but past breakfast time, then head over to Departure Lounge at Solaris, Mont Kiara. It's a small litte cafe place that serves nice coffee with latte art to go with each cup and different types of breakfast.

You can actually make your own breakfast by deciding what goes in your breakfast - choose a 3 item, 4 or 5 item ranging from eggs, sausages, French toast, beans, turkey ham, etc. Other items on the menu are sandwiches, pasta, etc.

Do have coffee when you're here and if you want a strong one, go for the espresso machiato or a cappuccino for a lesser caffeine kick!

Getting there: head towards Mont Kiara and get to Solaris. This shop is on Solaris 4, just opposite Kiliney Kopitiam.

Nasi Lemak@Uncle Lim Kopitiam

@Ikano, Mutiara Damansara
If you're wondering which modern kopitiam serves nice nasi Lemak, then you've gotta try the one at Uncle Lim. It comes in either fried drumstick, rendang chicken or beef rendang. I would definitely recommend the chicken rendang as compared to the beef or fried chicken. In addition to that, it also comes with a cuttlefish sambal and the usual condiments of hard boiled egg, peanuts and cucumber.

The drinks here are also not bad, such as the barley or cendol. I woould not go for the coffee as it's nothing to shout about.

There are quite a number of branches such as Subang Parade.

Red bean xiao long bao@Din Tai Fung

@The Pavillion
This restaurant which origins from Taiwan serves award winning xiao long bao (pork dumplings) and their la mian (hand made noodles). In fact, this restaurant was awarded a one star Michelin!

One other item which is always a favorite for me is the red bean xiao long bao. It's basically very fine red bean paste served with the same xiao long bao pastry. The moment you bite into it, you can just taste the lovely creamy sweet texture of the red bean paste. Totally heavenly dessert that you must have while here. It also comes in yam paste.

Roti @Raju's

@Jln Gasing
If you're looking for yummy roti canai, thosai, etc then you've gotta head towards Raju's at Jalan Gasing. This place is a haven for a lot of joggers who goes for their run at Bukit Gasing plus loads of other folks craving for yummy breakfast in a al fresco setting.

My usual orders here are the thosai telur bawang (egg, onion thosai) while my wife goes for the roti canai and roti banana. You should also try their fried fish - ikan gerisi, yh chicken drumstick or the squids. And of course, don't miss the teh tarik!!!! Do come early or later nearer to lunch as it can get very packed on weekends.
